A new sports website enables British football fans disappointed by the UK's exclusion from the Euro 2008 finals to play virtual games with rival countries.
EA Sports has launched a version of Uefa Euro 2008 that can be played either online or on a console by fans looking for a slice of the action.
"The only way that my fellow countrymen and I can enter the finals is via this game," Matt Bilbey, marketing director at EA Sports and UK resident, told Business Week.
According to the news provider, this year's tournament is to be the most "web-centric" ever, with more than 100 million followers predicted to access the official sports website for the championships.
Mr Bilbey noted that more than 250,000 such fans have participated in the Euro 2008 online competitions since their May 20th launch.
Euro 2008 is the 13th edition of the tournament. It commenced on June 7th and the final is set to take place on June 29th in Vienna.
