New YouTube adverts on the way, says Google

A new kind of YouTube advert could replace the standard, video integrated marketing currently utilised on the video streaming site, Google has said.
The search giant, which bought YouTube for $1.65 billion (£846.14 million) two years ago, has expressed its intention to focus on monetising the site in 2008.
A key part of this project could involve the development of online strategies on the site from "pre-roll" and "post-roll" advertisements to something more integrated, chief executive Eric Schmidt said in California this week.
He commented: "Think of them as ads that use the page around YouTube in interesting ways."
Google was responsible for about eight in ten searches conducted in Europe in March 2008, new figures from comScore indicate.
In a recent interview with CNBC, the company's chief executive admitted that a "breakthrough" on how to maximise the investment in YouTube had not yet been reached, but would be a priority for the online advertising and search giant this year.
