A new investment website has been launched for gold and silver buyers, which combines historical perspectives with practical information on buying and selling the precious metal.
History of Gold and Silver is aimed at novice investors, exploring the position occupied by the commodities in countries around the world throughout history.
However, the portal does not limit its scope to the investment significance of gold, examining its use in art, as currency and in the medical sphere.
Users are offered information on collecting coins and explained the meaning of terms such as 'legal tender' and 'sterling silver'
Designed by artist Ray Istre, he states that the site should help anyone gain literacy in the field.
"I wanted to share my fascination with this subject in light of the days in which we are living," he comments.
Meanwhile, the Tutankhamen and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs exhibition is currently displaying Egyptian gold at London's o2 arena, supplemented by a downloadable webcast and visitors' guide to enhance the user experience.
