User-generated content site YouTube has announced the top videos of 2007, with the most shared, discussed, highest-rated and popular in general featuring in the list.
Videos including a fan's defence of Britney Spears, an ardent supporter of Democratic candidate for the presidential nomination Barack Obama and wildlife interaction all featured in the run down.
"This year, YouTube and its users were at the forefront of politics, music, entertainment and more," said Jamie Byrne, head of product marketing for YouTube.
Chris Crocker grabbed the attention of more than 14 million viewers with his Leave Britney Alone clip, which pleaded with everyone to let the former Mickey Mouse Clubber get on with her life.
The video was also the fourth "most-responded" in YouTube history, according to information released by the site.
Battle at the Kruger was seen 21 million times, portraying the tussle between lions, water buffalo and crocodiles over a calf. A real event, it was also shown on various TV channels.
Obama Girl, also shown on political talk shows, was viewed four million times and features a young singer giving her backing to Senator Obama in his campaign for the Democratic nomination.
YouTube - a subsidiary of Google - was founded in February 2005.
