Opera Software has lifted the veil on its Opera Mobile 9.7 mobile phone browser, which is set to launch officially at the CTIA Wireless 2009 conference next week.
The new application comes with the Presto 2.2 rendering engine and the Opera Turbo compression tool, as well as offering full support for Flash, Ajax and other dynamic web technologies.
Rod Hamlin, Opera Software's senior vice-president for the Americas, claimed the browser "gives our business customers the ability to bring a rich internet browsing experience to their mobile device and to the end-user without having to allocate new resources and development costs".
Key to this is Opera Turbo, which can compress data by up to 80 per cent. This reduces congestion and makes it easy for users to browse the internet even when they are experiencing network limitations.
Opera is one of the top five most commonly used web browsers in the world.
