Twitter has announced a new feature that lets members find out more information about a particular user without clicking through to a new page.
Its Hovercards offering works by displaying extra data about a specific person when a user hovers over their name or avatar on the Twitter website.
This means that members can follow these users by clicking on the relevant option on the Hovercard, as well as view more information through an expanded view of the card.
Users can additionally send direct messages to the Twitter users they follow through Hovercards.
"Because many of you use Twitter.com to read and write tweets, we've been spending some time focusing on ways to improve your experience on the site," the site said in a blog post.
The social networking website recently rolled out a new feature enabling users to see trending topics local to their area.
Local Trends lets members compare posts on the same topic in different locations.
