A growing number of consumers will watch online videos from the comfort of their living rooms as more people make use of web-connected TVs.
This is according to a new forecast from Screen Digest, which suggests that the fact more games consoles and set-top boxes now have internet capabilities means more online videos will be watched via TVs this year.
Dan Cryan, head of broadband at Screen Digest, said that the market is still in the early stages of growth.
"We are only at the beginning of the digital living room as TV sets, Blu-ray players and other set-top boxes are increasingly getting connected to the internet," he commented.
Screen Digest also predicted that mobile apps will continue to grow in popularity over the course of 2010.
Almost 22 million people in the UK watch online videos, according to comScore.
Britons watched 4.7 billion clips in April 2009, representing a 47 per cent increase compared with the same month in 2008, the company's most recent UK figures show.
