A new social networking website featuring a range of informational features and rich media for sports fans has launched in the US.
FanDome.com allows users to track teams in a variety of sports at college and professional levels via news, blogs and a catalogue of more than 40,000 videos.
The sports website was launched after its founders, Ricky Joshi and Karim Motani, found they were unable to access the information they wanted about their favourite teams in one place while outside of the region the teams were based in.
FanDome.com features more than 600 owned and affiliated sports team communities featuring forums and other content, while users can rate individual videos and connect with other fans.
"There clearly was no singular place on the internet to quickly and easily find all the best sports content, and FanDome brings that to fruition," remarked Tony Andrea of Kaleidoscope Sports and Entertainment, which offered guidance to Mr Joshi and Mr Motani.
Sports websites in the US registered a 26 per cent increase in unique visitors during August compared with the previous month, according to recent comScore figures.
