Those involved with website development may be interested to read that new research has revealed almost eight in ten British internet users watched an online video in June.
Released by comScore, the statistics highlighted the growing popularity of video streaming in the UK, with Google sites - including YouTube - and the BBC topping the list of the most visited sites for video clips.
More than 27.4 million Britons watched 3.2 billion clips on the internet in June, equivalent to an average of 117.7 each - the highest in all of the countries surveyed by comScore.
Businesses may also want to review their mobile website design strategy in the light of figures suggesting that 4.2 million UK mobile users watched TV and video on their handsets during the month.
Last month, eMarketer suggested that spending on video advertising in the US will grow at a slower rate this year than previously believed.
