The company in charge of football pools brands Littlewoods, Vernons and Zetters has said that its recent digital relaunch was focused on providing more engaging online content.
Speaking to E-consultancy, Dominic Starkey, head of online marketing for Sportech, said that the main aim of the revamp - which saw the three brands consolidate into one site, footballpools.com - was to increase awareness and offer "unique" content.
He explained that the new website design "reflects the desire to connect with the football market online and our unique position in social betting".
The website now includes a range of new pools games and offerings, in addition to social media such as message boards, profiles, blogs and mini-leagues, Mr Starkey added.
New channels have also been set up on sites such as MySpace and Facebook to engage more users.
Football pools games had more than ten million players during their peak, according to the Times.
