Major higher education representative organisation Universities UK has redesigned its website to accommodate a range of new features and improve accessibility.
The site now features a new homepage, new sections for news releases, research and online events registration, enhanced search facilities and better navigation.
Universities UK said that the website was built with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, which enables the addition of features such as RSS feeds and podcasting.
The relaunch of the site coincides with the 90th anniversary of the creation of Universities UK.
"In today's world of 24-hour electronic media, our new website will be able to support fully Universities UK in its long-standing mission to be the essential voice and the best support for a vibrant, successful and diverse university sector," commented Diana Warwick, chief executive of Universities UK.
The website works to conform to Level Double-A standards as set out by the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Accessibility Initiative, including the implementation of selected Priority 3 checkpoints to meet the Level Triple-A standard.
