MSN and Hearst Magazinesare set to launch a new food-themed website in the autumn of 2008, Microsoft announced this week.
The site - Delish.com - is set to exist as its own brand, with Hearst Magazines' digital media division to design, develop and provide editorial content for the site.
Meanwhile, MSN will cover primary distribution and advertising sales - and will provide access to the site via the MSN home page and the MSN Lifestyle Channel.
"Our content, coupled with the enormous reach of MSN's audience, is a very powerful combination," said Hearst Magazines executive vice-president and general manager John Loughlin.
It is thought that both MSN and Hearst expect traffic numbers at Delish.com to place the site among the top ten online destinations related to food. According to MSN executive producer and general manager Jeff Dossett, around 60 million unique users visit food-related websites.
Some 550 million unique monthly visitors around the world use MSN, Microsoft.com and Windows Live, which are available in 21 languages.
MSN's global destinations include China, Australia, Indonesia, Russia, Spain, Sweden, the UK, Canada and the US.
