The new Live Search Cashback scheme, which offers cash rebates to shoppers who purchase products through the search site, is to be rolled out in the UK.
Microsoft made the announcement at the Cannes International Advertising Festival, noting that the new programme is to be extended to Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), reports Live News.
Brad Goldberg, general manager of the Live Search Business Unit, said: "As discussed this week, we have plans to scale our search efforts in EMEA. Cashback is a core part of our strategy and we'll look at that as part of our overall plans."
The initiative has been tested in the US for the past month, after being originally announced at the Advance 08 Summit recently.
Meanwhile, Microsoft announced this at Cannes that it is to open a new Search Technology Centre in Europe, intended to accelerate the firm's investment in Live Search.
