A new advertising initiative from Sky Sports is to integrate TV with the internet, it has emerged.
The network has enlisted an ad agency to create a 45-second video to promote its sports coverage, reports the Guardian.
Featuring England cricketer James Anderson, the video shows him catching a ball struck by Sergio Garcia, the Spanish golfer.
A Sky Sports presenter is seen commentating as Garcia tees off at the US Open, stating: "Now, I wonder what's going to happen here".
The clip closes after Anderson's catch by giving details of Sky Sports coverage of the one-day international series between New Zealand and England, the NatWest International 20/20 and the US Open.
Video streaming website YouTube is to carry the promotional clip as part of a viral marketing strategy to complement TV exposure.
A similar viral marketing campaign was launched last summer by Sky, the report observes.
Meanwhile, Puma recently signed a deal to integrate its brand with internet game Football Superstars.
