Companies are planning to invest more in the online strategies of paid search and search engine optimisation this year, a new report asserts.
Research conducted by E-consultancy reveals that 63 per cent of responding companies plan to increase their budget for paid search campaigns.
And of the 1,000 firms surveyed, 61 per cent intend to invest more in search engine optimisation techniques in 2008.
Lucy Cokes, manager of study sponsor Neutralise, says that search engine marketing is now acknowledged as a common marketing technique among British enterprises.
"It is fantastic to see a greater understanding of the benefits of a well managed search marketing campaign and budgets being increased accordingly across both paid and organic search," she adds.
Meanwhile, recent comScore figures suggest that Google extended its share of user queries in March from 59.2 per cent of the market to 59.8 per cent.
