Yahoo! is launching a new site aimed at women between the ages of 25 and 34.
Shine is a lifestyle magazine featuring fashion, food, beauty, health, work, money and parenting news and information, organised into a blog-style format with both user and expert contributions.
Content will be either syndicated from mainstream women's magazines like Glamour or written by Yahoo!'s editorial team, as well as incorporating other Yahoo! web services with a search bar and email component.
The launch comes as a new eMarketer report asserts that UK women outnumber men on the internet for the first time.
According to the research firm, the female online population is set to grow by 12.3 per cent between 2008 and 2012.
However, a report released last December from the Pew Internet & American Life Project found that younger women are overtaking their male peers in the field of content creation rather than just consumption.
Blogging and posting photos were two of the areas in which teenage girls were found to be more active than boys of the same age.
