Slick site redesign 'can boost consumer trust'

Carrying out a sophisticated website revamp could improve consumer relations, according to a new report.
Writing on E-consultancy, Leon Bailey and Jonathan Hirshler advise that the Campaign Against Political Correctness could gain credibility by rethinking its web presence.
"If they want to increase donations made online the website needs the trust factor - this will come with a slick, professional and modern redesign," the experts assert.
Similar advice is offered to four other campaign groups, all of which are claimed to be losing out on potential funds due to their less-than-perfect websites.
The Plain English Campaign is informed that a blog platform for news, giving each article a separate page, could improve search engine optimisation and usability.
Meanwhile, the Campaign for Real Ale should incorporate the word 'beer' into the title tag of its homepage to advance its Google ranking and Credit Action is told to dispense with its splash page.
A social network for commuters was offered as a potentially lucrative website design tactic for the Campaign for Better Transport.
Howard Gerlis of the British Computer Society has this week reminded small and medium-sized enterprises to maintain their site consistently rather than letting it languish after the initial excitement.

There are loads of ways to improve the majority of websites that are currently out there. The best way to ensure your website's success is to look at the overall picture; improvements to elements of a website are great, but an overall strategy for a complete website will have a far greater effect. Finding the right agency to do this is equally important.
