Another big name in the world of sport has signed up to Twitter to keep his fans up to date with his latest thoughts.
Golfer Ian Poulter joined the social media site two weeks ago and is already seen to be one of the best celebrity microbloggers on the website, according to the Independent on Sunday.
Poulter has some 130,000 followers on the site and told the newspaper that he only started using the service when he noticed that some of his biggest friends were on Twitter.
"It was good banter and it was a laugh to know that other people were looking on," he said.
"But there's also a serious side to it. It's a very clever marketing and publicity tool."
Other high-profile sportspeople currently using Twitter include tennis star Andy Murray, cyclist Lance Armstrong and basketball player Shaquille O'Neal.
UK traffic to Twitter has soared 22-fold in the last year, according to a recent report from Hitwise.
Twitter is now the 38th most visited site in the UK, the figures showed.
