Blogs 'ideal' for SEO

Blogging can be a good way of boosting a company's online strategy when it comes to search engine optimisation (SEO), it has been suggested.
Speaking to BtoBOnline, Chris Baggott of Compendium Blogware explained that most corporate blog readers are first-time visitors who typically find the blog in question via a search engine.
He likened blogging to email marketing, stating that a blog "can be focused and delivered almost with the precision of an email", and said that firms looking to target many keywords could consider setting several different blogs to do so.
Corporate bloggers should concentrate on their page titles first and foremost, as search engines look at this information to assess the type of content that can be found on the page, Mr Baggott explained.
"Because people don't search for blogs by their name, but rather by their topic, title your blogs with the keywords you are targeting," he recommended.
About 41 per cent of UK web users read at least one online blog, according to comScore research published last year.
