The Guardian's sport section has announced the launch of its new Twitter feed.
Located at twitter.com/guardian_sport, the feed offers followers breaking sports news, links to blog posts, exclusive content and information on upcoming sports pieces in the Guardian and the Observer and on guardian.co.uk.
Currently, Guardian Sport editor Ian Prior, guardian.co.uk sports editor Sean Ingle and sports new correspondent Owen Gibson have their own accounts on Twitter, as does the newspaper's Fiver football email newsletter.
The new feed will be updated up to ten times a day, the newspaper stated.
"We're well aware that Twitter is a conversation, not a one-way broadcast, so please tweet us your thoughts, suggestions and questions," the Guardian said.
UK traffic to Twitter increased 32-fold between March 2008 and March 2009, according to Hitwise.
The social media site was the 50th most visited website overall in the week ending April 4th, the statistics also showed.
